Become a Trustee
At Mencap Hastings and Bexhill, our trustees play a vital role in guiding the charity’s mission to support adults with learning disabilities.

Our trustees come from a wide range of backgrounds, each bringing their own time, skills, and experience to guide and strengthen our work. By sharing their knowledge, they help us improve services, boost fundraising, and ensure our society runs smoothly and sustainably.
The board meets just six times a year, creating a space for collaboration, fresh ideas, and strategic direction—all with the shared goal of enriching the lives of the people we support.
You don’t need prior board experience to get involved—in fact, new perspectives are often the most valuable! Our trustees include people with backgrounds in construction, education, HR, and parent-carer roles, showing that many different skills can make a real difference.
Being a trustee is rewarding for you too. It’s a chance to give back to your community, develop new skills, and strengthen your CV—all while working alongside a welcoming team who share your passion for making a positive impact.
If this sounds like something you’d like to be part of, we’d love to hear from you.
